Change of Road Access at East River High School

This is a community meeting to discuss a proposed plan to change access to a roadway from emergency personnel only to use by the general public at East River High School.

The property is generally located south of East Colonial Drive and West of Story Partin Road. The community meeting is being held on Dec. 4, 2025, at 6 p.m. at East River High School, Cafeteria 650 East River Falcons Way, Orlando, Florida 32833.

Next Steps: This request is still in the technical review stage. Once all review staff have completed their reviews, the request will be scheduled for a Development Review Committee (DRC) meeting. At this staff-level meeting, which is not a public hearing, the DRC will make a recommendation on the request. The request will then be scheduled for a Board of County Commissioners (BCC) public hearing for a final decision, and notices will be mailed to surrounding property owners

Community Meeting Summary: The community meeting was held on December 4, 2025, at East River High School. Fourteen (14) residents were in attendance; most were generally opposed to the proposal to open the access point on Story Partin Road as a full access. Other concerns expressed included noise, speeding and traffic concerns in the area surrounding the high school.
