Orange County's Down Payment Assistance Program provides funding to eligible first-time homebuyers to purchase a new or existing home in Orange County.

Notice:

The application portal for Orange County's Down Payment Assistance Program will temporarily close starting September 6, 2026.

Complete applications submitted on or before September 6, 2026, will continue to be reviewed and processed in accordance with program requirements and available funding. Applications remain open for new homes constructed on County donated lots and other properties developed by non-profit organizations.

The amount of assistance provided is determined based on household income and size, with $70,000 available for eligible very low-income buyers, $40,000 for low-income buyers, or $10,000 for eligible moderate-income buyers. All applicants must complete a pre-purchase homebuyer's education program and secure a first mortgage.
