8868 and 8890 Curry Ford Road Future Land Use Map Amendment and Rezoning Request for 44 Townhomes
Case #: SS-26-01-032 & RZ-26-01-032
This is a 2nd community meeting to discuss a proposal to amend the Future Land Use Map (FLUM) designation from Low Density Residential (LDR) to Low-Medium Density Residential (LMDR) to allow for the proposed development of up to 44 single-family attached dwelling units (townhomes), subject to Natural Resource Impact Permit (NRIP) approval (SP-24-07-003). In addition, the applicant is seeking to rezone the subject property from A-2 (Farmland Rural District) to R-2 (Residential District).
This project is within District #3 at 8868 and 8890 Curry Ford Road; generally located on the south side of Curry Ford Road, west of Econlockhatchee Trail, east of Chickasaw Trail, and north of Cimarron Drive.
The community meeting is 6 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2026, in the Deerwood Elementary School Media Center (Bldg. 100, 1st Floor), 1356 S. Econlockhatchee Trail, Orlando, FL 32825
Next Steps:
- Following the community meeting, the request will be scheduled for a Planning and Zoning Commission (PZC) Hearing, at which time a notice will be mailed to nearby property owners. The item will also appear on the PZC agenda which can be accessed through the County Calendar. The PZC meets typically every 3rd Thursday of the month at 9:00 a.m. at 201 S. Rosalind Avenue, Downtown Orlando.
- Following the PZC hearing, the case will go to the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) as a public hearing, at which time a notice will be mailed to nearby property owners.
