Nonprofit Safety Grant
The Non‑Profit Safety Grant provides reimbursement funding to eligible 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations implementing community projects that improve public safety and reduce crime.
Priority is given to projects serving:
- Youth and senior populations
- High‑crime neighborhoods
- Individuals with disabilities
- Economically disadvantaged communities
Eligible nonprofits may receive $1,000–$10,000 for approved projects. Organizations must meet all Orange County insurance and documentation requirements. Applicants awarded this grant in the previous two consecutive years are not eligible.
Eligible projects include activities that:
- Promote public safety and crime‑prevention education
- Provide home safety improvements (house numbers, window locks, fire extinguishers, 911‑only cell phones, gun locks)
- Offer resident training (self‑defense, theft prevention, senior safety)
- Support disaster‑preparedness initiatives
Organizations may submit multiple proposals, but only one project per nonprofit will be funded.
