Water Quality Improvement Project on Lake Jessamine!

The Lake Jessamine Advisory Board approved Municipal Service Taxing Unit funds for the installation of two floating treatment wetlands on Lake Jessamine. The purpose of the wetlands is to naturally remove nitrogen and phosphorus from the lake to improve the water quality. The wetland plants will be harvested approximately every four months and replanted for continued uptake of these nutrients.

The wetlands can be viewed from the dock at Cypress Grove Park.
