8868 and 8890 Curry Ford Road Rezoning and Future Land Use Map Amendment for 48 Single-Family Homes

This is a community meeting to discuss a proposal to amend the Future Land Use Map (FLUM) designation from Low Density Residential (LDR) to Low-Medium Density Residential (LMDR) to allow for the proposed development of 48 single-family attached or detached dwelling units. In addition, the applicant is seeking to rezone the subject property from A-2 (Farmland Rural District) to R-2 (Residential District).
The property is located in District 3 at 8868 and 8890 Curry Ford Road; Generally located on the south side of Curry Ford Road, west of Econlockhatchee Trail, east of Chickasaw Trail, and north of Cimarron Dr.
The community meeting is 6 p.m. Monday, January 26, 2026, in the Media Center at Deerwood Elementary School, 1356 S. Econlockhatchee Trail, Orlando, FL 32825.
Next Steps:
- Following the community meeting, the request will be scheduled for a Planning and Zoning Commission (PZC) Hearing, at which time a notice will be mailed to nearby property owners. The item will also appear on the PZC agenda which can be accessed through the County Calendar. The PZC meets typically every 3rd Thursday of the month at 9:00 a.m. at 201 S. Rosalind Avenue, Downtown Orlando.
- Following the PZC hearing, the case will go to the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) as a public hearing, at which time a notice will be mailed to nearby property owners.
